Hermon Edward Gill, Sr.

Hermon Edward Gill, Sr., 73, of Chase City, VA, passed away on February 10, 2012. He was born on March 27, 1938 to the late Charlie P. and Betty Hendrick Gill. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Gill and one son, Hermon Edward “Eddie” Gill and Kim West of Roxboro, NC. He was an Army Veteran. He was a founding member of two bands, Joe Martin and the Smokey Valley Boys and Eddie Gill and the Grass Masters. He was an 18-time State Champion on the Harmonica, Banjo, and Guitar. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home chapel. Internment will follow at the Chase City Mausoleum.
