Gordon Shelton

Gordon Hugh Shelton, 96, of Red Oak, VA, passed away on July 26, 2012. He was born in Charlotte County, VA, on September 3, 1915 to the late Samuel and Essie Shelton. He is survived by five nephews, James Dart of VA, John Dart of SC, Thomas Dart of VA, Thomas Shelton of NJ, and Jeffrey Shelton of NJ, three nieces, Janis Riccaddi of NJ, Nanci Miller of PA, and Linda Shelton of NY, two cousins, Dorothy Clark of Chase City, VA, and Horatio Crute of VA, and two special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Dailey of Charlotte County, VA. He retired as a tobacco grader and farmer. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as a trustee, Sunday school teacher, and a former deacon. He was a WWII Army Veteran. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church.
