Edith Puryear

Edith Crowe Puryear, 90, of Chase City, VA, passed away on August 23, 2012. She was born on June 22, 1922 to the late Jack and Lessie Crowe. She was the widow of Arthur Puryear. She is survived by her two sons, William A. Puryear (Betty) of South Hill, VA, James E. Puryear (Hilda) of Chase City, VA, two daughters, Betty Jean Owen (Dixie) of Skipwith, VA, Mae Hayes (Jerry) of Skipwith, VA, one sister, Lucy Mae Brewer of Woodbridge, VA, nine grandchildren, Dana and Vince Lindholm, Gena and Vern Carter, Sherri and Doug Moore, Cysie and David Adams, Chandler Puryear, Tiffany Lewis, Misty and Steve Stewart, Christy and Matt Smolnik, and Steven and Jen Puryear, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home chapel. Internment will follow at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church with Reverend A.C. Wells officiating.
