Mary Lee Carter

Mary Lee Card Carter, age 86, of Chase City, Va passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016. She was born on April 10, 1930 in Mecklenburg County, Va to the late Frank and Lula Card.

Mary Lee is survived by two daughters, Mary Francis Amos and her husband, Doug of Drakes Branch and Sarah Jane Farrar of Chase City, two sons, Jimmy Carter of Chase City and Danny Carter and his wife, Susan of Holly Springs, NC, six grandchildren, Dora Lee Miller, Kimberly C. Owen, Andy Lee Carter, Gary Farrar, Danny Farrar and Ethan Carter, eighteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Lona L. Meade of Jacksonville, AR, three brothers, Frank Edward Card of Chase City, Alfred Card of Chase City and Wylie Card of Disputanta and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Carter is predeceased by her husband, James Hubert "Pete" Carter, one grandson, Robert Scott Carter, two sisters, Lula Mae Wallace and Dorothy Jackson and one brother, Charles Card.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
