Ray Tharpe

Franklin Ray Tharpe, age 76, of Chase City, VA, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018. He was born January 14, 1942 in South Boston, VA to the late James Berkley Thorpe and Mary Newcomb Thorpe.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran and a member of Butchers Creek Hunt Club.

He was predeceased by his wife, Annette Childress Tharpe.

Ray is survived by one son, Kevin Michael Tharpe and wife, Angela of Memphis, TN; one daughter, Cheslie Tharpe of Memphis, TN; and two grandchildren, Makayla Grace Tharpe and Anderson Ray Tharpe.

A graveside service with Military Honors by the United States Air Force Honor Guard will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Woodland Cemetery, Chase City, VA.
