Gary Ennis White, age 73, of Chase City, Virginia, formerly of Neptune City, New Jersey, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019. He was born October 24, 1946 in Long Branch, NJ and was the son of the late Ira Ennis White and the late Mary Cavalier White.

He graduated from Shore Regional High School in West Long Branch, NJ in 1964. Gary was a United States Navy Veteran; serving as a Weatherman in Iceland for four years. After the Navy, he became a Telephone Installer for the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company. In 1979, he became the owner and operator of G & G Stairs and has been a stair builder for the past 40 years. He was widely known for the beautiful staircases he built. Gary was an avid antique car collector and enjoyed attending car shows all over but especially enjoyed the car shows in Carlisle, PA. He loved all types of muscle and antique cars especially Chevrolet, Pontiac, and Oldsmobile.

Gary is survived by his son, Jeff White of Chase City; a sister, Gail White of NJ; a nephew, Julian White; two special family friends, Erin Lorenzo and Ashley Buchea; numerous friends; and his beloved cats, Mama Kitty and Sammy.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Following the service, family and friends are welcome to come to Gary’s Residence, 118 Mecklenburg Academy Drive, Chase City, Virginia 23924. The family requests all those attending the service to dress casually.
