Ernest Toombs

Ernest S. Toombs, 77, of Red Oak, VA, passed away on March 29, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Sue Toombs, two daughters, Jessica Toombs Zoby and Chris of Virginia Beach, VA, and Lisa Toombs Whitt and Thomas of South Boston, VA, one son, Ernie Toombs of South Boston, VA, five sisters, Edith Warren of Richmond, VA, Agnes Brankley of Richmond, VA, Charlotte Reese of Chase City, VA, Madeline Moore of Chase City, VA, and Evelyn Ellington of Skipwith, VA, three grandchildren, Benjamin Zoby, Grace Zoby, and Hannah Toler, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Jack Toombs.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Public Fork Christian Church. Contributions may be made to the Hailey Duffer Fund or the Halifax Hospice.
