Ryland Allgood

Ryland Leo Allgood, 78, of Chase City, VA, passed away on August 2, 2011. He was born on May 1, 1933 to the late Howard Sidney and Lena Griffin Allgood. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lawson Allgood, two sons, Ricky Allgood and wife, Jane of Chase City, VA, and Donnie Allgood of Chase City, VA, four grandchildren, Bryan Allgood, Whitney Allgood, Aaron Allgood, and Maggie Allgood, a devoted sister, Edith Nicholson, brothers, Houston Allgood, Meredith Allgood, and Butch Allgood, sisters, Christine Matthews, Marie Honeycutt, Joyce Wilson, and Judy Glasscock, and numerous nieces and nephews. He owned and operated Allgood Store for many years, he was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, and an Army Veteran. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home chapel with Steven Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church building fund.
