Carolyn Coleman

Carolyn Newcomb Coleman, 72, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023. She was born January 31, 1951 in Crewe, Virginia and was the daughter of John Newcomb and Ruby Morgan Barlow. 

She was preceded in death by her infant son, James David Coleman, Jr. and brother, Ray Newcomb. 

Carolyn is survived by her husband, James David “Jimmy” Coleman; children, David Coleman of Chase City, Timothy Coleman (Faye) of Chase City, and Wanda Dunaway (Chris) of Drakes Branch; grandchildren, Mary Lord (Peter), Samantha Coleman, Shelby Simmons (Dalton), Amanda Coleman, James Dunaway, and Chelsie Coleman; and great-grandchildren, Elijah Lord, Emmett Lord, and Liam Simmons. She is also survived by her brothers, John Wayne Newcomb (Evelyn) of Amelia and Melvin Newcomb (Gail) of Deltaville; several nieces and nephews, and her special friends, Belinda Burns and Joe Mayton. 

Carolyn retired from Jonbil in Chase City and was a prior member of Salem United Methodist Church. She loved her dogs, enjoyed fishing and going to her camper and above all else, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Chase City. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
