Claude William “C.W.” Tharpe, 45, of Saxe, Virginia passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024. He was born June 22, 1979 in South Boston, Virginia and is the son of William Washington Tharpe and Christine Cooper Tharpe.
C.W. is survived by his parents, William and Christine Tharpe; children, Robert “Robbie” Kemery, Joshua “Josh” Tharpe (Emma) and Kinsley Grace Tharpe; and granddaughter, Lorelai Grace Tharpe (his Peanut) and his beloved dog, CoCo.
He is also survived by his sisters, Kim Lenhart (Lee), Jenny Davis (Henry), and Laura Carnes (Joe); nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Brian, Krystyn, Justin and Kaitlan; great-nephew and great-nieces, Cash, Addie, and Bristol; special friends, Derek Toombs and Steve Toombs; many loving family members and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Nathaniel Hunter Carnes.
C.W. was a member of Public Fork Christian Church in Red Oak and a 1997 graduate of Randolph-Henry High School. He was a long time staff member of Toombs Logging.
C.W. loved spending time with his family and friends in the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. A “Character-in-General”, his laughter, foolishness and enjoyment of life will be truly missed.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Public Fork Christian Church Cemetery with Evangelist Denis Fritz officiating.
