Danny Lee Hudson, 70, of Nelson, Virginia passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026 at his home. He was born March 20, 1956 in Granville County, NC and is the son of the late Harold Hoover Hudson and the late Ludie Mae Williamson Hudson. 

Danny is survived by his wife, Melissa Weston Hudson; his children, Christopher Hudson (Nicole) of Raleigh, NC, Monica Snelson (Jake) of Chesterfield and Sarah Hudson of Nelson; and his grandchildren, Clara Hudson and Levi, Jackson and Ellie Snelson. He is also survived by his brothers and sister, Gray Hudson, Wayne Hudson, Jerry Hudson and Judy H. Herndon; numerous nieces and nephews; and his long time friend, Leslie Moses. 

Danny was a Maintenance Planner and Machinist for Burlington Industries for 28 years and Louisiana Pacific for 20 years. He was a member of Amis Chapel Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and enjoyed his tractor and cutting grass. Danny was a kind, honorable and hard working man; notable for helping everyone with anything they needed. 

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Nelson Baptist Church Cemetery, 1837 Nelson Church Road, Nelson, VA 24580. The family will receive friends following the service in the church’s fellowship hall. 

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Danny’s memory to The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565. Online condolences may be expressed to the family via the guest book. 

Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home in Chase City will be handling the arrangements.
