Dorothy Ann Duffer Mills, 75, of Red Oak, Virginia passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025. She was born February 22, 1950 in Clover, Virginia and is the daughter of the late Frank Duffer and the late Annie Mae Hatcher Duffer.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Duffer.
Dot is survived by her husband of 58 years, Douglas Aubrey Mills; her children, Douglas Aubrey Mills, Jr. (Charlotte) of Red Oak, Sheila Mills Shearin (Chris) of Skipwith, Cynthia Mills DeJarnette (Pearson) of Drakes Branch, Timothy Wayne Mills of Red Oak, and Amanda Mills Redmond (Jamie) of Keysville; twelve grandchildren, Ryan Wiles (Jackie), Aaron Mills (Cortney), Allyson Mills Campbell (Dalton), Joshua Stembridge (Hannah), Dylan Stembridge (Mackenzie Rudder), Mollie Mayhew (Colton Carter), Noah Mayhew, Hayden Mills, Emma Mills, Lizzie Ann Redmond, Maycie Redmond, and Chloie Redmond; six great-grandchildren, Carrington Wiles, Grayson Mills, Addison Mills, Avery Mills, Grant Campbell, Carter Stembridge; and one great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her brother, Curtis Duffer (Pam); numerous nieces and nephews; and her special nurse and caretaker, Kendra Morris.
She is a member of First Christian Church in Chase City. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Hardy-Mills Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and all other times at Doug and Dot’s home.
