Eddie Harris Gregory, Sunrise April 26, 1945 - Sunset May 3, 2026.
He was born in Farmville, Virginia and is the son of the late Herbert Gregory and the late Emma Lee Harris Wood. Eddie passed away at his home in Skipwith, Virginia surrounded by his family at the age of 81.
He was a lifetime member of New Hope Baptist Church in Skipwith, Virginia, a United States Army Veteran and a Master Mason for the Chase City Masonic Lodge 119 where he served as chaplain. Eddie was a Facility Engineering Mechanic for 38 years at Burlington Industries in Clarksville and 7 years at Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill until his retirement. He was a devoted volunteer for maintenance and repairs at Camp Concord and always helped others in any way that he could. Eddie enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and riding his tractor.
Eddie is survived by his daughters, Dana Lindholm (Vince) of Skipwith and Stephanie “Cysie” Adams (David, predeceased) of Clarksville; grandchildren, Tristan Adams (Kailoni Gonzalez), Brandy Ridpath (Chris), Kevin Adams (Emily), Derek Adams (Meliza), Hillary Elder (Trey), and Hundley Adams (Kristina); and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his son-in-law, Eddie was preceded in death by his stepfathers, Daniel Shelton and Kenneth Wood and his beloved dog, Liz.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Pittman officiating. The Chase City Masonic Lodge 119 will perform Masonic Rites and the United States Army Honor Guard will render Military Honors. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
