Evelyn Christine Jones, 73, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Monday, July 13, 2026. She was born July 16, 1952 and is the daughter of the late Henry Grady Newcomb and the late Rebecca Tuck Wilmouth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Jones and her brothers, Clarence Wilmouth and Charlie Wilmouth.
Evelyn is survived by her brothers and sister, David Newcomb (Beverly) of Skipwith, Shirley Liles of Chase City, James Wilmouth (Sherri) of Tennessee, and Hurley Wilmouth, Sr. (Cindy) of Drakes Branch; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; her special friends, Elaine Wilmouth, Lucy Rutledge, and Margie Hendrick; and her beloved dog, Daisy.
Evelyn is a member of First Christian Church in Chase City. She was a simple, kind and caring Christian woman. She helped care for all of her siblings growing up and she also loved helping care for all the children in her family. Evelyn loved Elvis and watching Westerns.
The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Cool Springs Christian Church Cemetery.
