George “Glenn” Whitten, 61, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025. He was born March 5, 1964 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and is the son of the late George Edwin Whitten and the late Frances Wells Whitten.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Sharon Whitten, better known to him as Honey Bunny; two daughters, Jamie Rose (David Rose) of Gloucester and Jennifer Fletcher (Kevin Fletcher) of New Kent; and grandchildren, Madison Jentz, Blake Walters, Cole Rose, Landen Wilson, and Charlotte Fletcher. He is also survived by his brother, Edwin Whitten (Karen) of Chase City; niece, Hannah Whitten (Jacob Bowers); nephew, Clint Whitten; and all of his friends that became family in his neighborhood and in Charlotte, NC.
He is a member of Mount Horeb Baptist Church. Glenn was a farmer and the owner of Whitten Appraisal Service. Farming and being on his tractor was his happy place. He enjoyed watching racing on Sunday, tinkering on projects and was a man of many talents.
A Graveside Service be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mount Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery, 10077 Old Cox Road, Chase City, Virginia 23924. A reception will follow at the shop (119 Taylor Lane, Chase City, Virginia 23924). The family will be receiving friends at Glenn and Sharon’s home.
