Irvin Patrick Seate, 87, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at his home. He was born April 29, 1938 in Nelson, Virginia and is the son of the late James Otis Seate and the late Edith Virginia Newton Seate.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Guy Patrick Seate and his brother, Clyde Worth Seate.
Irvin is survived by his wife, Charlotte Rebecca Hart Seate; his daughter, Sharon Seate Acree of Chase City; grandchildren, Devon Acree Lyons (Michael), of Norfolk, John Irvin Seate (Demetria) of Columbus, GA and Kristen Jonus of New York City, NY; and great-grandchildren, Rainn Seate and GraceLynn Seate. He is also survived by his sister, Madeline Lowry (Franklin) and four nieces.
He was a member of Nelson Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church in Chase City. Irvin was a construction worker for various companies including English Construction and Brown and Root Construction. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, especially Bill Monroe. He loved history, collecting tobacco memorabilia, reading, and working in his yard. He and his son, Guy enjoyed model railroads together. Irvin was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and a kind and helpful neighbor and friend.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gene Burris officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery in Clarksville, Virginia. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
