James Bruce Scott

James Bruce “Jimmy” Scott, age 59, of Chase City, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born July 26, 1966. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Bruce “Butch” Scott and his brother, Stephen Scott. 

Jimmy is survived by his mother, Ruby Jane Lenhart Scott; girlfriend, Phyllis Anne Wilkerson; niece, Shelby Nicole Scott; and great-nieces, Vada Noelle Scott-Bullock and Eloise Darlene Scott-Bullock. He is also survived by his aunts, Rita Wells, Patricia Brown, and Susie Vilbig; uncles, William Scott, Jr. and Marvin Tate; and his beloved dogs, Rainey and Precious. 

He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and a former member of the Chase City Rescue Squad. He was a truck driver for B & E Transit Mix Inc. in South Hill.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held Sunday, November 9, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jacob Thomasson officiating.
