Logan Hunter Lacks

November 28, 1992 — June 10, 2026

Chase City, Virginia

Logan Hunter Lacks, 33, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was born November 28, 1992 and is the son of Nelson Larry Lacks and Linda Hash Lacks.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Nelson and Joyce Lacks; maternal grandparents, Bill and Geraldine Hash; and his cousin, Matthew Hash.

Logan is survived by his parents, Larry and Linda Lacks; his son, Mason Hunter Lacks; his brother, Chris White; his aunts and uncles, Quita and John Keeton, Iris Weston, Alice and Howard Bohannon, Terry and Kenny Coomes, Brenda Hamlett, and David and Patricia Hash. He is also survived by a special cousin, Amy Hamlett and a host of cousins and other family members.

He was a Bluestone Senior High School Class of 2011 graduate. He loved to play golf, ride four wheelers, play baseball and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very smart and he touched many lives in the last month during his battle with cancer. The ones who loved him and truly knew him would say he carried a strong, vibrant spirit and a bold individuality on the outside, but possessed an incredibly deep, gentle warmth on the inside.

He deeply understood forgiveness, knowing that being human is just a part of life, and he embraced it all. Though life’s challenges and hardships may have altered his destined path for a season, Logan’s story is not defined by the detours, but by where he ultimately landed. His final chapter was defined by grace, love and forgiveness. A very important lesson was taught from Logan’s legacy, which reminds everyone mistakes don’t justify your final path- it’s only a detour.

He was fiercely witty and funny, possessing a brilliant sense of humor. He had a magnetic, genuine charm; so many people have said that he just grew on them instantly, proving to be a deeply likable guy even if they had only met him one single time.

Though his time with us was far too short, the depth of his love, his grace, and his laughter will remain etched in our hearts forever.
