Marie Thornton Brown, 66, of Clarksville, TN formerly of Chase City, Va was taken into Gods arms on Saturday, April 27, 2024. She was born on April 14,1958 and was the daughter of the late Reverend William “Bill” Thornton and the late Anne Keene Thornton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her heavenly baby sister, Mary Susan Thornton and sister, Jody Thornton.
Marie is survived by her husband, Michael Patrick Brown, Sr. of Clarksville, TN; her sons, Bryan Scott Harris (Sandra) of Courtland, VA, Michael Patrick Brown, Jr. (Tonya) of Stem, NC, Joseph Thornton Brown (Elizabeth) of Ashland City, TN, and Jason Tyler Brown (Victoria) of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Kourtney Harris, Michael Harris, Kate Brown, Olivia Brown, Peyton Brown, and Corbin Brown; great-grandchild, Hudson Harris; sisters, Kathy Graham (Steven) and Carolyn Weaver (Creig); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a longtime Licensed Practical Nurse at the South Hill Hundley Annex Center and a member of Concord Baptist Church in Chase City. Marie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was truly a gift from God to the world as she was the most caring person with the gentlest soul who cared for many and was loved by everyone.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Following the graveside, a reception will be held in the church’s fellowship hall.
