Marlen Rothell

Marlen Virgil Rothell, 82, of Victoria, Virginia passed away peacefully Friday, January 27, 2023 at his home. He was born July 18, 1940 in Norfolk, Virginia and was the son of the late Marlen Rothell and the late Shannon Jones Rothell. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Rothell and sister, Brenda Sandlin. 

Surviving are his wife, Alice Moorefield Rothell; two sons, Brian Rothell of Richmond and Jason Rothell of Phoenix, AZ; step-son, David Strum (Barbara) of Victoria; grandchildren, Christine Crute (Jeremy), Jason Strum (Angela) and Brittany Hanks (Jonathan); sister, Frances Walker of Chase City; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. 

Marlen was a United States Navy Veteran. He served as a Police Officer in Providence, Rhode Island and Richmond, Virginia. 

In honoring his wishes, no services will be held.
