Nancy Carol Jones

Nancy Carol Dickerson Jones, 81, of Midlothian, Virginia passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at her home. She was born June 7, 1944 and is the daughter of the late John E. “Buster” Dickerson and the late Katherine Vaughan Dickerson.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Holloway and her brothers, Wayne Dickerson and Donnie Dickerson. 

Nancy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Herman Wayne Jones; son, Tim Newcomb (Patty); step-son, Robbie Jones; grandchildren, Brandon Newcomb, Megan O’Hagan (Chris), Nicole Holloway and Aaron Jones; and great-grandchildren, Piper O’Hagan, Austin Guth and Chelsea Guth. She is also survived by her special niece, Mandy Woodfin and two special friends, Patsy Toombs and Carol Chase. 

Nancy was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Red Oak and also attended Central Baptist Church in Richmond. She was employed by the Chesterfield County Public School System and worked in the payroll department. She was also an Office Manager for Chesterfield Pediatrics. Nancy loved gardening, flowers and cooking for her family. Everyone was always welcome to her home and you never left hungry. She enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, scratch tickets, playing slot machines, and especially enjoyed her recent trips to Rosie’s. Throughout her entire life, Nancy was selfless, loving, caring, and very devoted to her family. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Herman Newcomb officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. A reception will follow the services. 

The family would like to sincerely thank Pastor Rodney Barwick for all of his recent text messages and conversations with Nancy, she really enjoyed them.
