Peggy Swaggerty

Peggy Diane Huskey Swaggerty, 73, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Monday, January 23, 2023. She was born November 5, 1949 in Knoxville, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Deadrick “D.J.” Huskey and the late Geneva Dunn Huskey. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Swaggerty and a nephew, John “Bubba” Levengood, Jr. 

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Michele Swaggerty of Chase City; granddaughter, Ruby Swaggerty; brother, John Levengood (Janice) of Lithia, Florida; sister, Penni Poole of Chase City; aunts, Ruby Payne and Bertha Dunn-Brewer; nieces, Heather Walker and Dana Flick; and nephews, Jeff Poole and Dan Levengood. She is also survived by her devoted friends, Melissa “Liss” Womack and Bryant Oliver; her special kitty, Caty; and her loving friends at Lake Country Community Church. 

She was a member of Lake Country Community Church and former Special Education Teacher. Peggy enjoyed reading, listening to Elvis and playing online games with her friend, Marlene. 

Services will be private.
