Rex Adams, Jr.

Rex Adams, Jr., age 89, of Wylliesburg, Virginia passed away Monday, May 17, 2022. He was born June 4, 1932 in Newport News, Virginia and was the son of the late Rex Adams, Sr. and the late Helen Elizabeth Robins Adams.

Rex is survived by his wife, Rachel Adams; loving cousins, Dianne Rust (Craig), Jane Waddell (Greg), Gary Austin (Bev); many special loving friends.  

He graduated from the University of Richmond. He was a United States Army Counterintelligence Veteran. He retired from Southside Virginia Community College working with business and industries. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Chase City, VA, Huguenot Road Baptist Church in North Chesterfield, VA and Bethel Baptist Church in Phenix, Virginia. He loved to travel. He enjoyed splitting wood, gardening, and attending football and basketball games at the University of Richmond. He was an avid reader and loved socializing with his friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Chase City with Pastor Gary Sims and Pastor Gene Burris officiating and Military Honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. A reception will follow in the church's fellowship hall. A private burial will be held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
