Richard “Dickie” Johnson

Richard Cohen “Dickie” Johnson, 70, of Richmond, Virginia formerly of Chase City, Virginia passed away Monday, March 20, 2023. He was born July 13, 1952 and was the son of the late John Cohen Johnson, Jr. and the late Rebecca Ellington Love. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-brother, Stephen Garner and nephew, Derrick Brankley. 

Dickie is survived by his brothers, Michael Johnson Sr. (Linda) of Chase City; and Joseph Johnson (Jessica) of Radford; step-mother, Barbara Johnson; step-sister, Debbie Garner Gosney of South Hill; nieces and nephews, Michael Johnson Jr., Jackson Johnson, Jace Johnson, Nicole Brown (Charley), Josh Gosney (Brittany), and Daniel “Boone” Gosney; great-nieces, Ava Grace and Adalyn Rose; and great-nephew, Barrett. 

Dickie was a former member of the Chase City Volunteer Fire Department and a life time Dallas Cowboy fan. 

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Herman Newcomb officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and all other times at the home of Mike and Linda.
