Shirley Janette Mangum Wilson, 93, passed away on November 13, 2023 in Luxemburg, Wisconsin. She was born in Fort Mitchell, Virginia on January 21, 1930. She resided in Chase City, Virginia until April of 2021, when she went to Luxemburg, WI to be closer to her daughter. She was a resident of Autumn Fields Assisted Living and was so grateful for all the loving care that she received during her stay.
She married Lindsey Otis Wilson on October 17, 1947, at Lunenburg Court House in Lunenburg County, Virginia.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey Wilson; father, William Wesley Mangum and his wife, Lula Parthenia (McKinney) Mangum; 14 of her brothers and sisters, Wylie Druey, Hester Carolyn, Una Francis, John Edgar, Della Eugenia, William Herman, Harvie Curtis, Sallie Louise, Ralph Decator, Minnie Parthenia, Frank Wayland, Hugh Knox, David Wesley and Gertrude Lucetta Mangum.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Connie Wilson Grant and her husband, Gary Grant; grandchildren, Christa (Phillips) McGirt, Braxton Harmon, John Grant and his wife, Megan, Sherrie (Grant) Servais and her husband, Aaron; great grandchildren, Linn Phillips, Cole Coniglio, Collin Harmon, Ava Harmon, Justus Harmon, Addison Grant, Ava Grant, Sarah (Servais) Heuvelmans, Grand Servais, Genevieve Popkey, Isadora Popkey and Adriannah Popkey; great great grandchild, Grayson Coniglio.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church in Chase City with Pastor Jim Fry officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 a.m. until service time inside the church. Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery.
Shirley was an active member in her church, serving as treasurer for several years.
