Trudy Brown

Mable Gertrude “Trudy” Brown, age 71, of Saxe, Virginia, formerly of Carroll County, Maryland passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at her home. She was born December 13, 1951 and was the daughter of the late Earl Franklin and the late Alma Driber Franklin. 

Trudy is survived by her husband, Douglas Sterling Brown, Sr.; daughter, Rhonda Lea Williams (Hugh E.) of Brookneal; step-son, Douglas Sterling Brown, Jr. (Shelia) of Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Chyanna Lea Hinkle (Clint); step-granddaughters, Kaitlyn Williams (Gage) and Megan Williams (Ethan); and her special friends, Ted and Joyce Seay and Jim and Sharon Riddle. 

She was the Director of Health and Mental Hygiene for the state of Maryland for 35 years. Trudy enjoyed crocheting and collecting pig figurines. She loved the outdoors, her flower beds, and watching all the wildlife on the farm. 

A memorial service for close friends and family will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 1 p.m. at her and Doug’s farm.
