Valeria Stembridge Rickman

Valeria Stembridge Rickman, 89, of Chase City, Virginia passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 25, 2025. She was born on June 4, 1935 in Skipwith, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Silas Wilkie Stembridge and the late Bessie Moore Stembridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nannie Lee Stembridge (Lyman) Hamaker; her brothers, Robert (Frances) Stembridge, Silas (Darlene) Stembridge, Charlie Thomas (Joyce) Stembridge, and Sidney Bryant (Barbara) Stembridge; her uncle, Charlie S. Stembridge; her mother-in-law, Lillie Mae W. Rickman; and her father-in-law, Alex Z. Rickman.

Valeria is survived by her loving husband of sixty-two years, Ray Thomas Rickman; her devoted daughter, Connie Rickman Clark (Tic Taylor); her devoted niece, Brenda Lee Rickman; and faithful pet, Max. Also, she was survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

Valeria worked as a Parts Manager at Tucker-Bevell Ford Motor Co., Kindley Ford, Ray Gerald Ford, Kenbridge Ford Honda, and F-A Automotive totaling 50 years of service.

She was a faithful member of Public Fork Christian Church. Valeria was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, and aunt. Valeria loved taking care of her family, cooking, dancing, and helping others. She was a devoted caretaker to many.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Public Fork Christian Church in Red Oak, Virginia. Interment will follow in the Public Fork Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
