Walter Clark Ingram, 92, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. He was born July 17, 1932 in Randleman, North Carolina and was the son of the late Theodore Ingram and the late Hannah Vickery Ingram. 

Walter was a Chase City High School graduate, a United States Army Veteran, a member of Ephesus United Methodist Church, and a life long farmer. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jones Ingram and nine siblings. 

Walter is survived by his daughters, Susan Moody (Robert) of Skipwith, Genie Mitchell of Chesterfield, Carroll Steele of Richmond, Sally Hutcherson (Blake) of Gretna and Paula Colgate (Mark) of Skipwith; fourteen grandchildren, Andy Moody, Amy Bell, Tommy Mitchell, Sara Mitchell, Brandon Steele, Tyler Steele, Emily Steele, Joshua Steele, Casey Franklin, Stephen Colgate, Kyle Colgate, Nick Colgate, Josh Hutcherson and Chelsey Hutcherson; twenty one great-grandchildren, Alina, Aaron, Aidan, and Eli Moody, Lilly and Jack Bell, Christopher and Layla Mitchell, Hunter McAden, Elan and Madeline Flowers, Chayse and Emma Steele, Kingston, Kashton and Kipton Gregory, Everleigh Tucker, Katheryn and Jackson Nicholson, Ellie Grace and Reed Hutcherson; as well as one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by three sisters, Nancy Ingram of Danville, Mary French of Richmond and Ruth Dean of Charlotte Court House; a special nephew, George “Jody” Ingram (Lisa); and several nieces and nephews. 

Walter’s family would like to sincerely thank his special caregivers, Melissa F. Price and Michelle Knighton for their loving care. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Ephesus United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Fry and Pastor Jacob Thomasson officiating. Interment with Military Honors by the United States Army Honor Guard will follow in the Ephesus United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
